Appeals after Trial

If you lost at trial, you have what’s called an appeal by right. That means you get to take your case to the next highest court and that court must hear your case and issue a decision. If you had a felony trial in circuit court, your appeal will be to the Michigan Court of Appeals. If you had a misdemeanor trial in district court, your appeal will be to the county circuit court.
